Recycling recent topic – problem and solution

IELTS Profi

So what did you come up with for the following recent IELTS question?

In many countries  packaging is increasing and recycling is not being done.

What do you think are the causes of this?

What measures could be taken to reduce it?

HERE ARE CAUSES AND SOLUTIONS PUT TOGETHER. Try to write an answer 🙂

Use a different paragraph for each one 🙂

  1. recycling is not convenient or accessible

If residents say it is inconvenient,  a local program could improve recycling recycling participation rates by informing people of the benefits.

In rural areas there could be partnerships with local stores, to install convenient drop-off sites .

2. people are not sure what’s recyclable and what’s not

( a result of this is recycling contamination ― when non-recyclables are mixed in with recyclables)

educational materials across communities could help eliminate confusion, even if those communities accept different materials as recyclable

3. people think recycling doesn’t make a difference (it is not important or is a low priority)

Penalties for not recycling are especially effective at encouraging people to learn their cities’ recycling rules.

They also need information about how their recycling efforts directly affect their community.
